The key criteria for the selection of the stud's stallions are "form" and "function". They must possess the type and native characteristics of a true Welsh Mountain Pony but also have the ability to produce future ridden performance horses for either under 12hh Open Show Pony, Hunter Pony and Lead Rein at Royal and National level.
The latest sire to be used at Arcadian Pony Stud is Imperial Baledur. A special thank you to Mark Bullen of Imperial Stud for allowing the stud to lease this outstanding stallion for the 2010-2011 seeason. Baledur brings size, type and scope over our broodmare band. As you can see from our 2012 foal gallery, Baledur has produced our best and most even foal crop to date. Every foal possesses his movement, scop and correctness of type and we feel very privileged to have had the opportunity to stand Baledur. We are sure from his short stay with us he will have impact on where we are heading.
Our two young future sires are Imperial Patrone and Imperial Nirvana. Both of these young colts have had a very successful show season as yearlings. Patrone winning the yearling colt class at the NSW All Welsh 2011 and then placed 2nd to Nirvana at the National Welsh Show in 2012.

Foundation sire Imperial Hussar (dec) has left the stud his own legacy. Hussar passed on his clean length of front, lovely dark eyes and chiselled face.
